Hello, my name is Jack Nunn and I am running for the LBRA board this year for the first time and I’m honored to be involved with this great organization. I’ve personally been rowing in Long Beach since age 5 when my father used to bride me with Tommy’s Burgers in Long Beach the more I rowed around Naples Island. I started rowing full time for LBJC in 1995 and was honored to be selected to the US Junior National Team Selection camp where I was coached under Todd Jesdale. I was recruited to Cal Berkeley where I rowed 4 years on consecutive undefeated seasons under Craig Ahmerkhanian and Steve Gladstone. I then won a silver medal at the Under 23 World Championships in 2001 for the USA Eight in Linz, Austria. I competed on the national team until 2006 where I officially retired from international rowing at the elite level and took up masters rowing traveling to 3 consecutive Worlds Masters Games representing and winning medals for LBRA. I have competed in the LBRA masters boats for the past 15 years and won many medals at various events at the regional and national levels in rowing. I was selected at US Rowing Masters Athlete of the Year in 2013 and have taken up many multi-sport competitions since 2007 competing in over 100 triathlons and 14 full Ironman distance races all while promoting the sport of rowing for cross training benefits. This year I have qualified and will be competing at the Kona Ironman World Championships and I could not have done this without the amazing fitness benefits with rowing. I own and operate Roworx Fitness and have been open since 2012. I have been promoting the sport of rowing everyday and have written many publications in Triathlete Magazine, US Rowing Magazine, Southbay Magazine, Organic Spa Magazine, and the Daily burn online all about the benefits of rowing. I believe we have the best workout and community boathouse rowing center in the entire United States and I want Long Beach to be even better. I care about making LBRA the best it can be everyday and that is why I’m running on the board this year for the first time.
Thank you for your consideration
