WHAT IS MASTERS ROWING

A masters rower is defined by the rower's age at the beginning of the year in which he or she turns 27.  Masters rowers categories A to K,  are determined by the age of the rower at the year of the event.  Masters rowers  row for fitness, recreation or to compete. Competitors may be elite rowers or beginners.  The annual World Rowing event is the World Rowing Masters Regatta.  This event takes place in a different location every year.  For more information see:   http://www.worldrowing.com/masters/.  USA rowing also has many Master's events.   These can be found at https://www.regattacentral.com/regattas.

In addition to focusing on the health and fitness benefits of rowing, there is the added benefit of forming friendships.  Long Beach Rowing Association is fortunate to have a highly qualified group of coaches that can assist all rowers in working toward their personal goals.  Rowers joining organized group rows can expect to pay $10 per session to the coach unless otherwise stated. Private lessons charges vary.  Please contact individual coaches for specific rates and to make an appointment.
