Regatta Information

41st Annual Bill Lockyer Christmas Regatta, 850m Sprints,
Marine Stadium Long Beach
, CA

Entry Fees and Deadline: The deadline for entries OR changes is Friday, November 28th.  We must receive your entry forms and fees by 5pm on this date! There will be a late fee of $10.00 imposed per event in addition to each regular entry fee for all late entries received.  All late entries subject to space available. Check regularly at our website for a list of entrants, printable forms and the latest race schedule. Entries are not considered complete until full payment is received. All fees must be paid in full before the racing begins or entrants will not be allowed to row the course.

bulletCoaches & Coxswain's Meeting:  This course is easy racing!  We have no coaches & coxswain's meeting.  So Please educate your rowers and coxswains on the following information: Racing is held in the Marine Stadium (click here for directions). There will be seven non-buoyed lanes for racing. The shore/beach side is Lane 1 and the Boathouse side is Lane 7.  Coxswains keep your course as close to the beach side as possible and OUT of race lanes. The start of the race is just ahead of the 1,000 meter pole, located in the water directly across from the boathouse.  The finish is at the final pole before the water's end, located on the boathouse side inside the stadium. All launching and landing will be from the west beach of the Marine Stadium (beach side). This holds for all college, open, Jr.’s and masters crews alike. Launching from concrete boat landings is prohibited since they are extremely slippery and encrusted with razor-sharp mussels.

bulletTrailers:  If you arrive Saturday BEFORE sundown, please park between the 500 meter pole and the finish line area.  DO NOT park inside the gated area closest to the beach.  Saturday AFTER sundown, you can drive your trailer inside the gated area closest to the beach.  If you arrive after sundown, be sure to call ahead about 1 to 2 hours PRIOR to your arrival and our President Jim or will unlock the main gates for you. If you arrive Sunday morning, the gates are opened approximately 6:00AM.

bullet Boat Rentals: Please contact A.C. du Pont at 562-773-5516 as soon as possible to make these arrangements.

bullet Communications:  We are not allowed to use a PA system in the stadium.  Information is posted at the clerk of the course table in front of the Lifeguard Museum.
