Welcome Competitors!

 Long Beach Rowing Association is proud to welcome competitors from around the country to our world class venue in sunny Southern California, site of the 1932 Olympic and 1997 USRowing National Championships.  The Marine Stadium is easily accessible from the 405 freeway and features 6 - 1000 meter buoyed lanes of racing.  Waters are typically calm and flat with occasional winds.  Warm-up areas include a 4000 meter loop and 3000 meters of back channels to choose from.

 Rules of Racing

 

Races will be held under the USRowing Rules of Racing as amended from time to time. A rower may compete as a Master from the beginning of the year during which he attains the age of 27. A competitor or crew shall be placed in the age category corresponding to the age attained during the current year.

Age categories do not apply to coxswains. Female coxswains will be permitted in men’s crews and vice versa. In mixed crew events half of the crew, excluding the coxswain, shall be women and half men. The coxswain may be of either gender. The minimum weight of coxswains in mixed crews is 50 kg. Each competitor shall be responsible for his own health and fitness and must be in a position to prove his age by presentation of an official document. Members of the same crew shall compete wearing uniform clothing (vest, shorts and any additional garments). The regulation regarding uniform clothing will not be enforced in mixed crews.
