Thursday’s Results
Returning to the scene of the Kline
Returning after an eleven year absence to the course where she won the World Championships, Sherri (Kiklas) Kline struck Gold again at Martindale Pond this afternoon. Dominating the field, Sherri and Rachel Storvedt won the Senior Lightweight Double at Canadian Henley.
Earlier in the day Rachel narrowly won her semi-final of the Senior Lightweight Single, with just 2 seconds covering the first four scullers. The final is tomorrow afternoon.
Jill and Jasmine McGill just missed out on the Bronze medal in the Under-17 Double, finishing a mere 0.2 seconds behind a crew from Vic. City. Beep Beep, indeed.
The day got off to a great start when Jasmine McGill and Laura Corrales-Diaz Pomatto finished 3rd. in their heat of the U-23 Lightweight Double, thereby qualifying for tomorrow’s semi-final.

A number of LBRA members compete this week at the 128th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines, Ontario. Billed as the largest rowing regatta on the American continent, racing starts on Tuesday 3rd and runs through Sunday 8 August.
- Sherri Kline and Rachel Stortvedt race the women’s lightweight double. Rachel also competes in the lightweight single. This marks Sherri’s first return to the venue where her US lightweight quad won the 1999 World championships. This regatta will show us how Sherri and Rachel currently compare to the top lightweights in the US and Canada.
- Laura Corrales-Diaz Pomatto and Jasmine McGill partner up to race in the Under-23 lightweight double. Laura also competes in the Under-23 single and hopes to get a late entry to race the lightweight single too. Laura hopes to gain great racing experience before returning to her USC team later this month.
- Sisters Jasmine and Jill McGill will gain fantastic experience of top level sculling as they both race multiple times this week.

The team flew out early this morning and the boats which departed on Dan McGill’s truck last Tuesday arrived safely in St. Catharines yesterday.
Other information
- Rachel will compete against the 3rd place sculler from US Elite Nationals and 5 of the 6 finalists from the recent US Club Nationals.
- Rachel and Sherri will race against the winning boat from Club Nationals and the 4th place pairing from Elite Nationals.
- Kit Litzinger, daughter of LBRA President Jim Litzinger, and her partner representing Edinburgh University, will start in the next lane to Rachel and Sherri in Tuesday’s heat of the lightweight double-sculls.
